Renewable offshore energies

University: Kiel University of Applied Sciences
Department: Department of Mechanical Engineering
Location: Kiel
Degree: Bachelor

Winter semester ,

Short description

Climate change and geopolitical developments are placing renewable energies at the center of future energy supply. Due to the large energy potential of wind and waves, renewable energies in the offshore sector have a special role to play. Thus, offshore wind energy will follow a steep expansion path and develop into an important pillar of the energy transition. At the same time, it will be flanked by the increased use of wave and tidal energy. Above all, offshore means challenging environmental conditions that the turbines have to withstand. Graduates of the study program 'Renewable Offshore Energies' develop innovative solutions to enable a safe and economic operation of these climate-neutral energy producers.
