Short description
Prof. Dr. Pao-Yu Oei is Professor for "Sustainable Energy Transition Economics" at the European University Flensburg (EUF) and heads both the study program "Industrial Engineering: Energy and Environmental Management" as well as the 30-member research group "FossilExit" at EUF, TU Berlin and DIW Berlin. He is the institute spokesperson for the Interdisciplinary Institute for Environmental, Social and Human Sciences and a member of the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (ZNES). His research and expertise includes modeling techno-economic challenges and integration of 100% renewable energy in the power, heat and transport sectors. Following on from this, other more socio-political challenges of the associated structural change and the political economy of a fossil fuel phase-out, including gender aspects, are also part of his research area.
